ProteanOS has participated in a number of mentorship programs throughout its
life:
* The distribution (then nameless) grew up as an undergraduate capstone
project in the spring 2012 semester at the [New Jersey Institute of
Technology][njit-ccs].
* ProteanOS [[returned|dev/capstone-2012f]] to NJIT's College of Computing
Sciences Capstone Program in fall 2012.
* ProteanOS is [[participating|vals-soc]] in the VALS Semester of Code pilot
program.
